Multi Effect Evaporators (MEE) are advanced industrial systems designed to efficiently remove water from liquids through the process of evaporation. They are widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing, dairy, textiles, and effluent treatment plants (ETP).
In a Multi Effect Evaporator, multiple evaporator vessels (called “effects”) are connected in series. The steam generated in one effect is reused as the heating medium for the next effect. This cascading use of steam significantly reduces overall steam consumption and improves energy efficiency.
